Too Many Similar Questions

Often times, students do not pay attention to directions the first time around. Students tend to miss many things that their teachers say. Orders are given for assignments, projects, or other self-led tasks that are covered by the teacher. Nevertheless, there are always students who miss the instructions due to confusion or lack of attention. Therefore, unless academic instruction is taking place, a great strategy to use is the ask 3 and then me approach. This strategy works extremely well when there are multiple hands in the air and the teacher can only tend to one question at a time. Therefore, once instructions are given and the students are working on their own, a teacher can implement the ask 3 and then me policy. The students must ask three other students in the class their question before asking the teacher. This way students must interact with one another and the teacher is not answering the same questions over and over again. If students still do not know the answer after asking three students, they may raise their hand. The teacher will then help answer the given question. This policy helps limit the amount of hands a teacher has to call on and requires students to work together to solve problems.
